Community Photo Challenge-GARDENS

These photos were take at the Old Westbury Gardens in Old Westbury, NY. This Garden is called the Walled Garden. To take a quick tour, click here.

Our new photo challenge is "GARDENS". You can photograph your own garden, or a local garden. It can be a detailed shot or a wide angle view. My image for the banner above was taken at Old Westbury Gardens in Old Westbury NY. If you choose to photograph a public garden, PLEASE include the name & location of the garden. (Optional-a small paragraph of info on the history of your garden or link to info)
What I am looking for is a display of beautiful gardens through out the world. So where ever you may live, find some beautiful gardens(private or open to the public) & show off your photography. Only one can be posted on our challenge blog, but you can add as many as you would like to your blog entry.

This was taken in Salerno, Italy. I used the HDR technique.

The Bedell house in Old Bethpage Village on LI, I also used the HDR technique with grunge effect.

This last photo was taken in the late 1970's in Mystic, Connecticut. I was looking out of the window on a rainy day, using the window as a frame. I added an grunge/layered effect this year.

Community Photo Challenge- GREETING CARDS

With the Holidays approaching I thought it would be fun to create our own greeting cards.
It could be Christmas theme, Festival of Lights or any religion holiday you celebrate, or.....New Years, birthdays, anniversaries.........Landscapes, Still Life, portraits....any type image can be used. You can do more than one.
This should be a good challenge for everyone. So please find the time to join in, I know that will be hard this time of the year.
You can add text to it. If you don't have any software to edit it, you can add your text in the post.

My powerlines is more like a radio tower,(I think)....Not sure, but it's by the Coast Guard station. I am posting early b/c I have plans tomorrow. This was taken last weekend.
